Members of the Elkhorn Estates and the community voice their anger and disagreement with the Board’s ongoing commercial rezoning efforts. A 2 step payroll policy change request reveals the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism by the leaders of the board.
Instead of denying an extreme commercial rezoning request, they pushed it until next summer pending the outcome of the Master Plan review. The Planning Commission appears to have an expectation of the outcome favoring this developer.
A developer from outside the area came to the board requesting a Commercial 3 rezoning on Van Dyke near 34 Mile. Bruce Township has never had C3, as this allows anything possible without restrictions. For example, an adult bookstore would be permitted under C3. Or we could get industrial or a Super Walmart. Listen from the 1:25:00 mark to about 1:31:00 mark, and you will hear the Supervisor and the Treasurer encouraging commercial development of the Van Dyke Corridor from 34 to 38 Mile. The people of Bruce overwhelmingly oppose this commercialization
